Technovation Finalists Showcase Transformative Solutions

Change Happens Foundation was honored to support Technovation this past quarter and even more honored to see its impact firsthand during the recent global finals. Serving as a judge was both a privilege and a powerful reminder of what makes this program truly catalytic.

Technovation equips teenage girls worldwide to build technology solutions that tackle urgent challenges in their own communities. This year’s finalists demonstrated extraordinary vision, technical skill, and determination—delivering projects that were not only innovative, but also deeply relevant to the lives of those around them. From mental health and maternal care to sustainable agriculture and youth employment, the range of solutions was as inspiring as the girls themselves.

Highlights included:

• Ukraine – Heart in Gestures: An AI-powered, gamified platform helping children and adults learn Ukrainian Sign Language, advancing inclusive education .

• Palestine – Azolla Care: A smart agriculture system using AI and IoT to help farmers sustainably cultivate Azolla, a protein-rich crop for animal feed .

• Nigeria – Mama Care: A mobile app providing education, self-screening, peer support, and professional guidance for mothers facing postpartum depression .

• Panama – BeeWork: A youth employment and volunteer platform designed to connect young people with jobs, internships, and service opportunities .

• California – MindBalance: A digital mental health tool leveraging AI to support individuals with schizophrenia through cognitive assessments, hallucination verification, and psychoeducation .

What makes Technovation so catalytic is not only the technology itself, but the confidence, leadership, and sense of agency it cultivates in young women. These girls are proving that with the right encouragement and tools, they can confront challenges that many adults struggle to solve—turning local problems into globally relevant solutions.
